Use specialized knowledge of local winds, weather, water depths, tides, currents, and hazards avoiding other marine traffic, reefs, outlying shoals, and other hazards to operating boat/barge
Load and transport assorted pieces of equipment, supplies, and materials
Steer boats/barges into and out of berths
Properly and safely fender, moor, and anchor boat/barge
Prevent boat/barge under navigational control from engaging in unsafe operations
Consult maps, charts, weather reports, and navigation equipment to determine and direct workboat/barge movements
Give directions to crew members
Maintain any required logs
Operate ship-to-shore radios to exchange information needed for ship operations
Provide assistance in maritime rescue operations
Outfit and maintain proper safety equipment
Other duties as required
Qualifications/ Requirements:
5-7 years of relevant construction experience
Towing Endorsement License for 200 ton
